Whether You Love It or Hate It, English Brogue Just Make People Sound Smarter
Dependent on who you speak to, a few people just love an English accent while a few individuals crouch down whenever they hear such a sound. And irrespective of where in the world we are we will hear it on television, radio, music, audio books and I even heard it latterly on a weight loss MP3. The thing is, like in any country, the accent can change dramatically dependent on what part of the country the person is from. If you actually like a British accent be aware if you ever travel the country for it changes seriously.
And no matter if you like, love or perhaps even say you dislike, hate a British accent just about everybody might admit there is something a bit interesting about it. Its the use of words and grammar that goes along with it that makes it all so unique in contrast to the way that the English language has been butchered over a period and has lost some of its eloquence and style. Can you imagine James Bond chatting like he was from Brooklyn, NY or the Jersey Shore? Now I'm cringing just at the thought of that. Hey yo... My names Bond. James freakin Bond. No, I do not think so. It would change everything about the James Bond picture of elegance, style and class.
And as fast as you turn the dial on a radio station, hear a voice off the television or listen to someone delivering any kind of dialogue from anything audible, that English accent is noticed straight away. Personally, I love it a lot so long as it's not too oppressive like folk in some locations in Britain sound. When I have traveled across parts of the country of England I found it often extraordinarily hard to understand one word being related and it virtually hurt my ears to listen. Similar to listening to someone from the deep south in the States who sounds like they might be speaking another language altogether. Meanwhile, there are parts of America where people talk with what's considered no accent in any way.
All taken with all I enjoy the captivating lilt of a British accent and the way in which it is delivered in such a charming manner so long as it is simply a slight and not too deep of that right away recognised English sound. And to go with the accent I usually find it engaging how phrases, words and terminology differs from the Brit when speaking English in contrast to American use of the language. As it's been asserted, they're two countries separated by the same language.
And unusually enough the English landed at Plymouth rock in Massachusetts and from there it all changed. But we do have to also realize the North American sound of the English language was impacted by all the languages and accents that arrived over a period of time and influenced the sound and way of speech. Either way, I'm glad the English accent has remained true to itself and continues on.
