Essentially, this meant that these people were able to use up more fat in comparison to the others who didn't receive green tea with their meals.

Subjects who were given caffeine or a placebo with their meals exhibited a minimal increase in their metabolic rates. The scientists interpreted that the ingredient, catechin polyphenol, obtained in green tea increases its benefits as a weight loss tea.
