what kind of Japanese tea cup is this?
it is taller than most japanese tea cups, no handle, dark grayish, maybe brown? I can't quite remember. I believe it is common but they all look kind of hand made out of clay or something like that because it is all bumpy.
It sounds like you are describing the kind of cup that would be used at a sushi counter.
It is bigger than a normal teacup so that the busy guys behind the counter will not have to keep filling it up.
