Tea Tree Oil Dog Shampoo?
I just bathed my dog, who is a 5 lb 9 year old Chihuahua, in Tea Tree Oil Dog Shampoo because I've tried Frontline, Advantage & almost every flea prevention from the vet, but nothing has stopped the little bloodsuckers.
But to my surprise after bathing him I just checked online and found out that Tea Tree Oil is toxic to animals? But before I read and it said it was safe for dogs? I'm confused...
Should I worry about his health after bathing him in this shampoo?
It is Perfect Coat Studio Concentrated Shampoo with Tea Tree Oil.
After reading stuff online I'm extremely worried for him. After all he is like my little son and I worry like any mother would. : )
There is only a small amount in the shampoo & your dog would have to ingest it. It can be toxic especially to cats more than dogs. It is too diluted to do any damage to your dog besides maybe causing an outbreak if he was allergic to it or has very sensitive skin.
Try apple cider vinegar on your dog for natural way to repel fleas. You have to treat pet, entire inside & outsides to remove flea infestation. Here is a link explaining acv uses & amounts to use.
